Should you deposit money on Li Chun?

Li Chun (立春) is the beginning of the Chinese Solar Calendar which divides the whole year by 24 terms. Li Chun falls on either the 4th or 5th of February every year.

Years back, a Feng Shui Master in Singapore shared a chart on auspicious hours based on your Chinese Zodiac to deposit money for a prosperous upcoming year and it just caught on from there.

However, there's no traditional Feng Shui theories to base on for depositing money on Li Chun to attract wealth. In fact, if I really want to go into that line of thinking ignoring the theories, shouldn't I be taking money out of the ATM and placing them in my pocket or home to attract wealth? Depositing money is placing your money into the bank's pocket. I don't think the Feng Shui gods track your bank records. So regardless, it doesn't make much sense. On top of that, this trend also causes unnecessary long queues at ATMs inconveniencing people who genuinely need to use the ATMs.

To get the most out of the year, I suggest the following.

1) Get a comprehensive destiny reading from a practitioner or consultant be it Bazi, Zi Wei Dou Shu or even Tarot. This can let you know how the year is for you. If it is not that ideal, it may be beneficial to stay low profile and not make any major changes like career switch or moving house for the year.

2) Consider the yearly Feng Shui for your house (assuming the general Feng Shui for the house is already taken care of) as the energy shifts every year. Minor adjustments will need to be made to minimize the effects of the negative energies like the 5 Yellow Star (五黄).

3) Do more good deeds and gain karma points.

But speaking of which, if you do wish to deposit money during Li Chun as it makes you feel at ease etc, please feel free to do so. Ultimately, living in harmony is the key to good Feng Shui.

I wish everyone a blasting Year of the Water Rabbit and huat all the way! 💰💰💰
